VOLUNTEERS

Our trained Volunteers come from a variety of differing backgrounds and professions. This offers a unique broad range of expertise in providing support to many vulnerable residents of Sefton. Volunteers have enabled Sefton Advocacy to become a progressive, innovative and well respected charity within Sefton.

We provide Advocacy training courses which focus upon principles of negotiation, active listening, communication, local services and resources and person centred approaches, and most importantly believing and supporting. Information is researched and made available to enable the Service User to make informed decisions and choices. Rights, views and wishes are acknowledged and taken into account by all advocates involved in making decisions and the specialist training places much emphasis on this.

The Independent Advocate places his/her own values to one side, respecting diversity and the right to make your own choices, and decisions for your own reasons.

Are you… a citizen who wants to make a difference? A good listener? A good communicator? Confident? Non judgemental?
